Post subject: cannot view pictures in e mail
Received some photos in e mail, looked like kodak, could not open, told me to do something in viewing, did not work. I do not have a problem if I get a windows media attachment, where to I set my pc to view all-This is the exact warning I got- This file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this action. create an association tor the Folder Options control panel. It was high priority C documents and settings

Were the pictures in your email, or were they attached as files? If they were attached as files, what was the file extension?

But what is the name of the file? Should be something like "thispicture.jpg" or "thispicture.bmp". The last three letters after the "." in the file name will give us a clue as to what program will open the file.

The attachment came as followed e ATT00013.htm (2.54 KB) then a Kodac icon aultparks.jpg(240KB)

And when you try to open the aultparks.jpg file it says no program is associated? you should be able to associate just about any graphics viewing program with jpg files, it should even open in a browser. That's about the most common type of graphics file used. Something we are overlooking here. Do you have any graphics viewing programs installed?

If I understand your question to me, I have the windows viewer, i also have windows media center, Kodak viewer, and Picasa 2. I have Intel Graphics- I wonder it this file could have been corrupted, but then why would I get that message? My son sends me photos and i can open them, just click on and thats it. Did I answer what you wanted from me, I am not a professional at this type of discussion so if I do not anwer what you aske- of me I am sorry, this is the first time I have seen this error, the person who sent the pictures does a lot of sending our group photos, I wonder if I should ask him what he is using?

Yes, I suspect something is wrong with the file. It should open in any of the programs you listed if it is in fact a jpg file.

Mystery solved, saw the person that sent the photos- he apologized, they came from a bad file- At least we both know that we were on the right track- Thought you might like a followup- Thank you for your help.
