Cowtoon I did the same once and took me many days and months to accidentally
find the simple solution. If you try to pull down the taskbar in the middle
it disappears, but if you go to the extreme right end and grab it in the
upper right hand corner in the box and pull it down your task bar will jump
back to one line.

I've also tried to fix the double row height problem, but cannot get the
dotted vertical line to the left of the Quicklaunch bar, or, below that, the
dotted line to the left of the active application titles, to move to the
right, left or anywhere. Any ideas?
