When you plug the flash drive into a USB port you should hear the Windows
acknowledgement chime telling you that Windows has seen the drive and it is
ready for work. In Windows Explorer you would see a new drive letter and
drive name. This name is usually the actual name of the drive, Kingston,
Iomega, etc.

Simply copy the files from their location on the hard drive to this flash
drive. Wait until you see Windows is done moving the files. Remove the
drive and off you go.

flash drive kills all usb ports - Using new Corsair 1 gb flash drive to transfer files from laptop to pc (XP home and XP Pro respectively), several trips already made, last time done caused all usb ports to quit. NO devices on usb ports work. Had to switch back to old style mouse plug...
