A million reasons why a system wont boot....................
check that all connections are proper and solid.
reset the Cmos by disconnecting power form the wall and removing the battery
for aprox 5 minutes or look for and reset the jumpers.
Is the CPU properly seated in its socket and the little leaver down??
Did you redo the cooling paste and reseat the fan as well as plug it into
the right header on the mobo??
Did you perchance bent any of the pins on the CPU??

That should give you some things to look at

When you reset the CMOS did you use the pins method and maybe forgot to
place them back in their original position??

the best way to troubleshoot this is to take out the Mother board
manual, see the beep codes.
Now disconnect all the external hardware, and start the computer.
Listen to the beep code and match that with the manual and follow the
instruction.

Well, I learned something by reading this thread. I did not know the BIOS
screen would even appear with the CPU not installed.

I repaired my pc and it will not boot up, I get 1 short beep with a pause and
a short beep and a pause and short beep. What does that mean.
