Post subject: Printer Properties not available
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>print_fax (more info?)
For the last week, I have not been able to view printer properties for any
of the printers I have installed on my XP machine. Clicking printer
properties just does nothing - no dialog or error messages. The printers
work OK, and one printer which is shared over the network can have it's
properties viewed and changed by other PCs on the network.

Could a system file have been corrupted, and if so which ones are involved?

A backdoor trojan (backdoor.breplibot.X) was detected about a week ago and
was removed by Spy Doctor - could that be related to the problem?

Nev,

Did you ever get any info on solving this problem? I'm having the same problem with a Windows XP notebook, and have been since suffering an overwhelming attack of spyware a few weeks back.

Hi Nev -

I had the same problem - I went through printui.dll and checked each DLL it
referenced.
