disable “remote desktop app” but still leave remote desktop web connection
enabled

I am trying to force individuals to use our corporate website to log into
“Remote desktop web connections” instead of basic “remote desktop” app-
mstsc.exe /console .

I do not want hackers to be able to use remote desktop to use brute force by
being able to just continuing to try to loginto a remote desktop session.

My solution has been to place the “Remote desktop web connection” login
webpage behind a secure webpage.
This all works fine and dandy but anyone on the outside can still connect to
port 3389 with the “basic Remote desktop client” and attempt brute force
password authentication.

I am tired and out of ideas…. NO clue how to disable “remote desktop app”
but still leave remote desktop web connection enabled

Things I can’t do.
