To find out what starts with Windows XP:
Start > Run > type: msconfig > click: OK > select the Startup tab
To find out what the entries mean:
Search the web for information
To prevent them from starting with Windows (best method):
Open the responsible program, go through the menus, find the setting
that starts the program with Windows, turn it off.
And now, some advice:
1- If you really are a neophyte, /don't mess with things you don't
understand./
2- An infection by a virus or other malicious software will also slow
your computer.
