computer keeps freezing

Post subject: computer keeps freezing

hi my computer keeps freezing and i have done loads of spware and virsus
scans but they never complete as computer freezers after 10 mins i have read
some advice and tried hijack this but not sure what needs deleting can anyone
offer me some advice

It may be overheating. Check all the fans, and especially the one on the CPU.
Make sure the heat sink is in good contact with the CPU. Blow all the dust out.
The thermal transfer grease on the CPU may have gone bad, and need to be cleaned
off and replaced.

i have done what u suggested but this has not worked. its fine for about 5
mins then it happenes again i can move the cursor but thats it nothing else
happens
