Hi,
I have a large music collection with a fair few compilation albums, which is
all setup in Windows Media Player.
In Windows Media Player I have the option to view my Music collection by
Album, Album Artist, Artist, Genre, etc, etc…. Which is great.
But when I go to My Music in Media Center I only have the option to browse
by Album and Artist, and not Album Artist like in WMP, is there anyway I can
change this, possible reg edit or something??
As it is absolutely diabolical that I have to scroll through thousands of
artists to find the one I want. If was able to browse by album artist as I
can in Windows Media Player this would group my compilation albums. And
everything would be great.
I would rarely browse by Artist so if there was even a registry edit that I
could do that would make the browse by artist button display album artists
that would be great.

I'll happily bump this again. It's remarkable that with all of the updates
and upgrades to MCE this has not been fixed. I understand it's been fixed in
Vista but it needs to be fixed in XP MCE. And yes, there's probably a simple
way to replace use of Artist with Album Artist, though it probably does not
involve a registry modification--it probably involves a very minor code
modification to alter the field that is being indexed.
