You're welcome. One thing that most qualified people here *will" agree on is
that getting rid of Norton (Symantec) is a very good thing to do. And McAfee
is almost as bad.

I have no experience with Panda, so I have no comments on it.

I have. It slows down computers a lot. Not only that, they spam like
crazy, mostly in Spanish but in English as well.

The people who haunt anti-virus groups will tell you that Nod32 and
Kaspersky (spelling?) are the front runners. I use the free AVAST!
offering and it hasn't let me down in over a year. However safe hex does
help.

Agree. Avast's products are all topnotch and don't mess up other software, or
your box. No Hiccups ever. It uninstalls really clean. Have been using
several of them in different locations for a couple of years and the only
viri I caught were in the quarantine chest before they finsihed opening. I
like it because I can then add these little beasties to collection for
testing all the other makers. You'd be surprised how many of the biggest miss
one or 2 that Avast doesn't. They're a Czech company. Always was a bit
Bohemian myself. Good company to buy stock in with products this good. If MS
is sharp enough to pick up Win/Sysinternals, Avast is what they need to make
OneCare's AV the best of the breed. I'm waiting to see if they sell
themselves or stay independent. If you run a mix of Servers take a look at
their Server Products. Plugins for everything you need.
