Post subject: XP Search..
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

In attempting to resolve a problem with Word, I attempted to find normal.dot
using the search function. Results were negative. When using explore, I was
able to find a normal.dot. Any advice as to why the file wasn't seen by
search when it was by explore and a possible solution would be greatly
appreciated!

Did you have hidden and system files enabled in your search?

Had them enabled in the Folder options but not in the search.
