Post subject: Windows Firewall Causes Remote Desktop to Disconnect
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>work_remotely (more info?)

I have XP Pro SP2. Whenever I connect to one of my client's server (using
Contivity VPN and terminal server), I sometimes lose the remote desktop
connection (VPN stays connected). When this happens, I get no notification
from my Windows Firewall about blocking anything. But when I connect with
Windows Firewall turned off, I never have a disconnect problem.

Exceptions in the Windows Firewall include Remote Desktop, mstsc.exe and
Contivity VPN.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this and how I can resolve it?
Constantly losing connections is VERY annoying (not to mention
non-productive).
