Recently windows explorer refused to display anything at the top. No menu
line (File. edit, view, etc), no address bar, no buttons...nothing! the only
thing a the top is "Folders, Name, Size, type, etc" Right clicking on the
top only lets you select "close toolbar"

Anyone got a clue what happened? Even better, know how to fix it?

System is XP Pro sp2

I too mysteriously lost the toolbar and menu line in Windows Explorer, for
the second time. Don't know why, and it is tremendously irritating! Fixed in
no time using Mr. Vogel's answer, and many, many thanks!
