Win XP does not start from new SATA drive

Post subject: Win XP does not start from new SATA drive
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>hardware (more info?)

Hi,
I am able to Install system on the drive (ST3250620AS) but it can't be
started "system loading error". I used SATA Drivers provided by a motherboard
producer ASUS (F6).
However windows Vista beta 2 has successfully started from this HDD,
please help me,

Earlier version of what? if you mean SATA drivers, I started without it.
Vista I also installed after several attempts of installing XP.
Seagate and Asus can't help me, Microsoft also because I have OEM version.
Salesman people in computer shop was trying to run the system for over half a
day without result.
If Vista started it seems a OS can solve the problem.

I solved the problem!
I used the Seagate DiscWizard in DOS where I specified that this HDD will be
used to work with "Win XP with SP1 or earlier"
I did not manage to run this soft before because just after starting, it was
hanging PC. I solved this problem unplugging mouse and operarting only with
keyboard.
