Well, since you didn't quote any of my answer to you I don't know what I
suggested or asked. Whatever it was, sorry that it wasn't useful to
you. Since apparently you feel that you've solved the issue, I'll sign
off.

Ok - im really confused here lol! Are you accessing this thread through some
means other than the newsgroup? When I access it I see every post so the
issue of previous threads being quoted just doesnt exist, I just er...click
on them and read them. Am I missing something here? I've been to your
elephant boy website and you certainly seem like someone who could help, I'll
paste the original problem here again because (contrary to your last answer)
I dont have a solution yet. Of any kind. If you have even heard of this
problem before that would be a bonus!

Apologies if I sounded a bit tart with my earlier posts, morning is perhaps
not the best time for me to reply to things! That said I assumed you were
accessing this thread the same way I was and could therefore see everything
that had been posted. For that reason your requests for me to repost details
left me confused and your subsequent post stating that you thought i had
resolved the problem (which I dont think i implied) left me even more
confused. But then..I am a bear of little brain sometimes....

Anyhoo...herewith the problem followed by your initial post:

Hi all,

I have a recurring window popping up every time i use IE (version 6). It
happens sporadically but is pretty much guarantted to pop up when I access
hotmail or yahoo, i have no idea if thats related though.

The window pops up with a security warning saying:

The current site: ad.uk.doubleclick.net

is trying to open

Internet site: C:\windows\system32\shdoclc.dll

Do you want to open this site....etc etc

Needless to say I say no, the presence of the word "ad" makes me think its
spyware/adware so i simply say no. However its extremely annoying and i cant
get rid of it. I have Adaware, McAfee, Spybot and CW Shredder and none of
these detect it.

I googled it and got a microsoft support messgae in the google answers but
the link seems to be dead as it simply goes to the microsoft home page.

Any clues as to what this is? Is it something i should be concerned about
and is there a way to remove it?

Cheers

Cheers

You also state dthis:

Well, since you didn't quote any of my answer to you I don't know what I
suggested or asked. Whatever it was, sorry that it wasn't useful to
you. Since apparently you feel that you've solved the issue, I'll sign
off.
