I plan to upgrade RAM memory to 512MB. Current memory - DIMM DDR 333 (2.5)
184-pin. 2 memory slots. I want add 256MB to second slot.
Is there any advantages to search memory from the same manufacturer I have
already installed, or this really does not matter? I can no even determine
their logo.

regards.

matched memory is preferable. If you buy one stick and it doesn't' work
you will need to buy another matching stick.

Check at the crucial memory site for compatibility

--------

I meant memory not only matched by model (DIMM DDR 333 (2.5), but also from
the same manufacturer.

Well if you cannot determin the installed memory manu and module, you cannot
match it.
(DIMM DDR 333 (2.5) is not a model #

Some particularly unlucky mismatches lead to hard to resolve stability
problems. Also, having matched sticks can be a performance boost (dual
channel).

I can no even determine

Download a system identification utility such as everest or aida32. In
most cases, it will tell you who made it. In some cases down to serial
number and week of manufacture At any rate, you will get more precise
specs, in order to make a better match.

Almost sure thing is to pull the current RAM module, and install the RAM
module that meets your needs in capacity size, and suitable for your PC.
