Post subject: Unable to access configuration for Microsoft Personal Web se

Hi,

I'm new to this group so if I'm in the wrong place, please tell me where to go. (My wife often does.)

I'm running XP Pro and using Office 2000 Pro. I had to reinstall Office 2000 and now I get a message window at boot up that says "Unable to access configuration for Microsoft Personal Web Server."

I searched numerous help sites and saw references to Front page. I've never used Front Page and I don;t have it listed with my programs nor in the add/remove software feature on the control panel.

I ran the MS utility "Windows Install Cleanup" and that does not show anything odd.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice.
Thank you.
Arnie

Thanks. I guess I had a senior moment and forgot about msconfig. That stopped the pop up.

Thanks!

I have got the same problem/message with my pc at work and I could not solve it. I had to install a different version of MS Office (on Windows XP). I tried the repair Office but the problem still exists. I don't think I have the Windows Install Cleanup installed. Any ideas what I shall do next?

I was installing the Office 2000 as well, and I haven't got it sorted so far. I guess I'd either uninstall the Office 2000 first and then install it from scratch(risk of lost data), or, get an Office 2002 upgrade package for it. I was told once that no need to get a new Office 2002 or 200x, just 2002 upgrade version. Good luck to you and pls let me know how you getting on.
