I have a desktop PC running XP Home SP2. Just recently, I installed
the TweakUI PowerToy and have been playing around with the various settings.
A very useful tool.

If you open TweakUI, and click "Explorer," there is an option to remove
the check mark where it says...."Allow Logoff on Start menu." I have done
so, and rebooted my PC, but the words "Log Off" are still displayed when I
click the Start button. All other customization features of TweakUI work
just fine. Any ideas about this? I had the same problem months ago when I
first tried TweakUI. I even disabled the Fast User Switching setting in the
XP Services area.

Add the "StartMenuLogOff" in the registry.

For the current user log in:
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
For all users:
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Name: StartMenuLogOff
Type: DWORD
Value: 1 - Remove Log off from the Start Menu.

To restore the Log off on the Start Menu, simply delete "StartMenuLogOff".

Log off and log on to make the necessary changes.
