My PC fails when it tries to update its time over the internet. Can anyone
help?

I have a new XP, SP2 PC - Media edition 2005, completely up to date. It is a
home PC, connected to the internet over BT Broadband.

When I try to synch using the 'update now' button in Control panel I get 'An
error occurred getting the status of the last synchronization. The handle is
invalid.'

In the event log, I get a W32time warning 'The time provider 'NtpClient'
returned an error while updating its configuration. The error will be
ignored. The error was: The handle is invalid. (0x80070006)'.

I've tried updating from a number of time servers, including
time.windows.com, uk.pool.ntp.org, time.nist.gov . They all give the same
error.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
