Post subject: Fax Service in Windows XP services
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>print_fax (more info?)

After installing the fax service, I right-click MY COMPUTER ->
Manage->Services. I looked for the Fax service, right click it and set it to
"manual" instead of "automatic"

The reason I did this is I do not want to tie up the modem (other
application are using it sometimes). However, after faxing a file the Fax
service stayed on (started). Is there a setting such that after faxing the
Fax Service is automatically stopped (to free the modem)?
