Can someone please help me? I have problems logging into runescape. I have
a brand new comp with windows xp sp2. I have broadband wireless connection.
I used to play runescape just fine, but all of a sudden when I log in it
looses connection. I have Norton antivirus and firewall, I have turned these
of to see if it works like that but it wont. The windows firewall I also
have it turned off. I scanned the comp and it doesn't have any viruses. I
have tried all the suggestions they give on the runescape site but nothing
works. I have reinastalled Java but that didnt help either. I can play
other games that run on Java on my comp like the yahoo games and puzzle
pirates. But I can't play runescape. Each time I log in I loose connection.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Plug directly into the router with a network cable and see if that helps
(your wireless connection may be dropping occasionally and the program might
not allow that to happen).

My computer is connected directly to the wireless receiver, so I dont know
what u mean. I can listen to online radio stations with no breaks in
transmission or anything.

It's possible that the wireless receiver is blocking your Runescape game,
even if internet radio is working properly. I suggest you remove that
wireless device from the equation completely to test the results. Smile

What I meant was for you to connect to an ethernet port on the wireless
router using a physical cable, instead of connecting to it wirelessly. Most
wireless routers include several wired ports.

You may also be able to connect your broadband modem directly to your PC and
bypass the router entirely, but connecting through a router is more secure.

just to let you know, my computer does the exact same thing. I have been
looking around for answers and I found out that if you have IE 5.5 than you
should have SP1 instead of SP2. you can check by opening up your browser
clicking on help, then click on "about Internet Explorer". Hope this helps.

Well my comp has IE 6.O and it has SP2. What is really weird to me is that
i was able to play last week again, but now it happened again. It's the same
problem. I log in and it looses connection.
