Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>work_remotely (more info?)

I was able to have a remote assistace connection with friends and relatives
in the past. I then installed IE7 Beta and then IE7 Final. Since then, I no
longer can connect to their PC's via messenger or e-mail and they can't
connect to mine.
I also noticed that the PC will make grinding noises as though it is trying
to load the remote assistance program but there isn't any window popping up
telling me that it's "Trying to connect to..." anymore.
Is there a way to make sure all files are installed for remote assistace to
work? I already have the checkmark to allow remote connections.
