Hi, I have a Media Center 2004 that lately has been ramdomly recording
scheduled recordings. Most of the time it will not record, but with a
pattern I have not been able to identify - sometime it will.

I took several actions to solve this without success, among them to upgrade
to MC2005 and finally wipe the disk and recover the original machine
conditions from the factory, subsquently upgrading to 2004 and 2005 versions
of MC.

Any help will be welcomed!

Information:
Machine: HP 854N (originally with MC2003 and now MC2005)
Cable provider: Atlantic in FL.

Thanks SO muich!

Hi Guys,

I'm having this problem also. It seemed to work fine before I upgraded to
MCE 2005 from MCE 2004. I looked in my event log and this is what I got:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Recording
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8
Date: 7/17/2005
Time: 8:59:00 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SONY
Description:
The Three Stooges was not recorded. A tuner failure occurred and no other
tuners were available at the time of recording.

I also had this error at the same time:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Media Center Scheduler
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 7/17/2005
Time: 8:59:00 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SONY
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Media Center Scheduler )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.
You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see
Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event:
Unable to communicate with Set-top Box..

Who can I chat with to anaylse the data for these errors? I can't rely on
MCE to record my shows anymore. It's so intermmitent and it's frustrating
me...
