Post subject: Muitple MCE Machines
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>mediacenter (more info?)

Has anyone networked muitiple MCE machines (Base machine with OS and
acceptable video card only) to a single MCE server? Since all the extender
box have a problem of some sort, I want to have actual MCE's but still
utilize one server to recording and organizing the media content. Are ther
issues with this approach?

Extender boxes fail in the following area: HDTV can not be shared, some
don't have built-in DVD, etc.

AFAIK this is only an issue in the US as there is no concept of copy protected
TV programmes in other countries apart from some satellite providers using
Macrovision to prevent you making even a VHS tape of the broadcast.
