When I am in the My Tv with MCE 2004, I can minimize my window (back to the
XP desktop) and I can maximize the window back to the Media Center My TV.
However when I press the "middle" button so that I can adjust my window size
so that I can watch TV and work on a program, it simply minimizes Media
Center back to the desktop (no TV sound). When I press the minimize button
(the single dash line) it minimizes to the desktop but this time with TV
sound.
I can't even get the window adjust icon in the lower right corner when I am
in MCE (when I am in full screen TV).
Can some one help me with this problem

It's possible that MCE is entering its windowed state somewhere
offscreen. This might occur if:

- you are using dual monitors (or were at some point)
- you are using a lower resolution than the first time you entered
window mode

Is the "Move" option available if you right-click on the taskbar entry?

Could being in a different resolution cause the top bar and volume/channel
control in mce05 to move in its position? I'm having similar problems even
though I did not change any settings that I know of.

No, overscan causes that to happen. See my reply in the original thread
for this issue (the top bar moving).

Thanks. I'll try that. Lost track of the last post I did.

Yes and it brings up the cross but doesn't seem to do anything.

Does this info help?
Thanks,
Mike

No problem, threads tend to get lost sometimes. Just trying to make
sure we keep things organized for when the next person is trying to
follow a thread if they hit this problem via a google search.

Cheers,
Pete

When the cross comes up, try using the cursor keys to move the window
back into view.

Thanks Peter,
That did the trick!
Thank you very much.

Now please try to convince MS to release an upgrade to MCE 2005 for of us
2004 users (Gateway does not have an upgrade program). Smile

Thanks again

We talk about it all the time with MS. I am convinced that they have
done all they can, it is up to Gateway to release the update to you if
they so choose.

Don't give up, Sony just caved recently with the upgrade.

Is there any way for Windows Media Center to make the TV picture stay
on top of the desktop without minimizing while working. I had this TV
Tuner from Pinnacle and that was a great feature (You can leave the
picture on the corner while working on a Word document on a maximized
screen) which Windows Media center does not have. Unless any of you
would know how to make it stay on top

Thanks

Always on top is one of the options in the MCE settings menu.

I wanted to post a 'thank you'. I was having trouble getting my windows
media center out of the full screen mode. By following Pete's instructions
to right click on the media center taskbar, click on move and then use the
curser key I am able to minimize my tv now. I thought I would have to watch
my tv in full screen mode forever, but thank to you and your advise from 2
1/2 years ago I was able to fix it.
