Hi, Kasper.
Well...it should work. You do not need the remote to get the keyboard to
work, but you need to make sure you have the latest updates, because support
for the keyboard is something that has been added somewhere along the road.
Also make sure you have the eHome IR receiver installed. Open device
manager, [Winbutton]+[Break/Pause] and search for it under Universal serail
bus controllers. If it's not there, go to control panel and have the Add New
Hardware wizard do a search to see if it's there.
The IR-eye is connected to a small board inside your computer. This circuit
board is actually an internal USB device, and it needs to be hooked up to an
internal USB connector on your motherboard. Check.
Also make sure the keyboard is okay, beware that IR keyboards can be a bit
tricxky to use if the receiver is not in a straight line. Did I mention you
should check batteries (even though you picked new ones?). Well check. And
replace.
Also do a [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] and pick the Processes tab to make sure that
the eHrecvr.exe is running, because that is the app that monitors the IR-eye.
If all this fails - you have either a broken keyboard (low probability), a
broken IR eye (medium probability) or a faulty install (medium-high
probability).
Good luck. Eller "lycka till" som vi säger i Sverige.
