I have installed XP Media Center 2005 on a new machine, but when Windows
loads, it is indistinguishable from the XP Pro user interface. How do I
change it to the new look and feel of Media Center? Thx.

Well, all Media Center machines are XP Pro at their heart, so the "desktops"
will look the same. To get to the actual Media Center user interface, just
run Media Center once you get to the XP desktop. If you _always_ want to
only run Media Center, you can drop the icon into your Start menu.

Isn't there an option in MCE to always load? Or is that in TweakMCE?

The option to load at startup is in MCE settings

FWIW - MCE & the Palm desktop & hotsynch (for a Sony Clie) have peacefully
coexisted on my computer for a couple of years.

Same here. I'm always confused when I see people say it isn't suppose to
work.

I have a Palm Tungsten E2. When I first got my Dell M140 laptop (with
MCE) last February I installed Palm Desktop and synced just fine.
Within a few days I began having problems. I also had other problems
with the laptop and had to re-install the OS. When I did that I
re-installed Palm Desktop and it's continued to work correctly. Until
it initially stopped working I didn't realize that Palm did not support
MCE.

Then it also doesn't support XP Pro.

MCE 2005 is the SAME as XP Pro. Any company that claims their software won't
work because it's running on MCE is just shirking their support duty.
