If you read Mow's instructions more carefully, you would have seen that
he was *not* suggesting that you install another antivirus. He
suggested that you do an online scan.
There is no way that anyone reading your posts knows what you have
installed. Look in Add/Remove Programs and uninstall whatever you are
calling "Microsoft Anti-Virus". There is no such thing, btw. There is
MS One Care, but I haven't seen this preinstalled on any OEM machines.
A good alternative for you might be to consider taking the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA). Someone who knows what they are doing and can do a
hands-on diagnosis of the machine will be able to figure out the
problems fairly quickly.
