Suddenly, MCE can't see My Music. It shows hundreds of icons marked "unknown
Album". If I try to select one of these, I get the message "This album
cannot be found. Please ensure that the album is on your computer and
available in the media Library...". The albums are available in Media
Library in WMP 10. I have cleared the list and added them all back in a
couple of times. The albums are physically present in C:\Documents and
settings\<my login>\My Documents\My Music. This folder is being monitored by
WMP. In MCE, I have tried taking out this folder and adding it back in, but
it doesn't add the albums. I see a few album names appearing in the "Adding
Music" dialog, and I let it run a long time, but when it is finished, I just
have the hundreds of "unknown album" icons.
What on earth can I try next? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. >> Stay informed about: Lost "my Music" ! |

I don't know about your button problem, but I got a solution to my "my Music"
problem over on thegreenbutton.com forums . I had to re-register windows
media player (Start - Run - Type "regsvr32.exe wmp.dll")

I wonder why the dll became unregistered in the first place?
