I have two users A and B. I am logging on user A. I used to switch to user
B.So far, so good. The problems start when I decide to go back to userA
either using logging off B or switching to user A. I came upon to a black
screen (the power is on) and nothing is done.
From the XP discussion groups I discovered UPHClean, I 've installed it and
the problem has been fixed temporarily. Rerun it and for the time being my
system can switch back to user A from user B but not logging off user B and
return back to user A. Again the beautiful black screen...
I'd appreciate your help.

I realize you asked this way back in July, but I just had my hard drive and
operating system replaced and the same thing is happening to me.

Did you ever get this resolved? If so, how. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no!
It has to be an XP bug. I used to live with that. Wait for Vista...

P.S. If you are performing two or more switches, then you may log off
without problem. Viva Microsoft!!
