INability to access CD/DVD Drives

I suddenly lost access to my HP DVD 300-c Drive and my Samsung DVD ROM Drive.
The system keeps looking for drivers but can't find them. I think they use
ATAPI.sys for drivers because HP says I just have to reinstall windows. Any
suggestions how to fix this problem without a full reinstall?

I'm have the exact same problem. My Compaq Presario 6016 just stopped
(today) reading my CD and DVD drives. Nothing in the "device manager"
install/reinstall instructions or other MS help files has helped. I get a
Code 39 error that says my drivers are either missing or corrupted.

How/where can I find new drivers?
