Hi,
a while ago i bought the following from Micro Direct:
ABIT SG-80
Samsung 250GB SATA HDD
Samsung DVD drive
Dragon PSU 400W and case
Elixer 512MB RAM
Intel Celeron 2.8Grz
i installed all the conponents correctly and installed XP Home OEM, got it
working for like an hour or two, went to walk my dog and came back and it
wouldnt boot atall. the screen just keeps aying No signal input.
I first thought this was a graphics card problem but it was my dads old one
which worked, but anyway i used the onboard one but didnt make a difference.
i then tried again later that day and it randomly booted up and started
working. A while later the CPU fan kept hittin a wire and so i took the case
off and moved the wire away from the fan, the wire had no damage.
i put the case back on and it did the same problem, so i phoned Micro direct
and asked for a replacement Mobo as i had that just running with the CPU and
RAM, i got a replacement and it did the same problem, but then it started
working again, as the power supply i was using along with the case was old, i
bought a new PSU and case and installed everything again and it wont work. iv
tried clearing the CMOSS numerous times and took out the battery.
The only thing it seems to do is turn the Fans on and use the DVD drive, but
it like uses it then stops then uses it again. theres no HDD usage, yet it
starts properly and everything.
im sooo pissed off atm (excuse me for the language) and i just dont kow what
else to do apart from wacking i with a sledge hammer...
thankyou!
