Hello,

I am currently attempting to install a HP Deskjet F380 and managed to
install the printer device but continue to get a problem when
installing the driver for the scanner.

The error I get is when I attempt to install the device through device
manager and after asking it to search the CD provided with the hardware
I am alerted that there was a problem installing the hardware and that
an error occuredduring the installation of the device with the
explanation of "The data is invalid".

I am installing the printer into an Windows XP SP2 Home Edition
computer. I have tried the drivers on the HP website and they cause the
same issue.

Can anybody please help?

Many thanks in advance,

Phil

Hi Charli,

Thanks for the response.

I have tried both yes and the actual installer for the printer tells
you when to plug in the device.
