Is there any way that I can get a Microsoft Firewall Icon to appear in one of
the trays? What I would like is to see an Icon that tells me that the
firewall is up and working (something like ZA or Sygate).

My concern is that a few months ago I found that the firewall was off and
Security Center did not tell me it was off (Security Center was off also). I
had to reload the complete system to get these things (and others) working
again - I assume that I had a virus.

I have tried other Firewalls but I like the Windows Firewall the best.
Windows Firewall, WinPatrol Plus, and Kaspersky Anti-Virus (I had been
running AVG) seem to fill my needs. I would feel better if I could get a
positive indication the the Firewall was up and working.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Why not turn Security Center back on? At least it would warn you....

I have done that - my concern is that something else could turn Security
Center and/or Windows Firewall OFF and I would not know it (happened before).
If possible, I would like to have a positive indication that the Firewall is
ON.

Thanks.
