I just got a new socket 939 AMD Giga-byte mo-bo (GA-K8NMF-9),NForce 4.
They have a place on the mo-bo called F_PANEL (front panel jumper) when you
connect PW switch,HD led,reset etc.
Kinda like jumper pins in a corner...
So they made a simple thing very confusing!
For example,a power switch...(PW).They have PW(+) and
PW(-),ie.anode-cathode.The PW switch connector (the end of the cable of the
case) doesn't show where it's(+) and where (-).Though I've noticed a small
arrow on a plastic...Don't know if it means anything...?
To make it even MORE confusing, they wrote-
Open:normal operation(???)
Close:Power On/Off.
Same about reset...
Can anybody explain in a simple English what all that B.S. means?

Doesn't matter which way round you put the power and reset switches, they'll
still work.
If you put HDD LED the wrong way round it won't work but won't do any harm,
just turn it the other way round.

All of the info is necessary. There is a large variation in case controls &
indicators.
The +&- generally just show the two wires going to a switch. They are
important when the header is used to connect to the USB ports or IR ports.
(Example)
They can be important if the MBD is used in a remotely controlled
application.
Intel had a standard that described this sort of thing a long time ago.
