Post subject: 'My Documents' folder now requires a passport password
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

I have a client who is not computer savy. He is, however, a ceo. About two
weeks ago, he complained about a password problem. I checked it out, and the
problem is that when he goes to access his "My Documents" folder, which he
does many times a day, he is presented with the passport password dialog box
requesting him to put in his passport password to proceed. He clicks on
cancel and the box dissappears, and he can proceed to his "My Documents"
folder. He does not have a passport account, nor does he even know what one
is. The folder is not shared, and they are running a workgroup with a Windows
2003 server as a file server. I have researched this through Microsoft's KB
as well as Google, and I cannot find anything on this. If anyone has any info
on how I can disable this, I would greatly appreciate it. My client is
getting more irritated, and I am at a loss.

Thank you,

Hank Lambert, CCNA

Almost a week, and not a single bite. Have I presented the question in a
confusing way? Have I not given enough information? If I need to provide more
info, or if I have not been clear, please let me know so I can clarify my
problem. I am hoping to clear this very unusual problem up for my client, and
cannot seem to find an answer.

Thank you,

Hank Lambert
