Post subject: Display Issue..

I have a friend that can not access his display properties.
He is the Admin for his computer.
NOTE: He has XP Home so gpedit is not an option.
When he clicks on properties from the desktop after right click,
NOTHING happens.
If he goes to Start/Control Panel/ Appearance and Themes and chooses any
of the options, Nothing happens at all.
You can see that his computer thinks for a second, then no response.
Is there a way or is there something that needs to be enabled to have this function working again??
Thanks for any help in advance...

We did not realize that this was a issue with him until I suggested that he change his resolution to see his screen better.
He had it at 800 x 600 and I was attempting to change it to 1024 x 768.
And also dress up his display a bit.
So I have no clue how long it has been and don't really want to set it back so far...

Hello,

Try starting the Display Properties Control Panel applet directly by clicking on Start -> Run and entering CONTROL.EXE DESK.CPL as the name of the application to launch and clicking on the OK button.

Can you now make changes to the display properties?
