Hello,
I use a PC (Win XP SP2) which is the only one in my work area to have a
net connection. So, it is used by most of my colleagues.

I have created two profiles on my PC, one under the "User" group for my
colleagues and a second with admin rights for myself.

The problem is that my colleagues save most of their files on the
desktop as a result of which the disk space in C:\ reduces drastically.
Then I have to manually delete the files everytime, which is a very
painful task.

Can I disable the file saving for this profile only so that they cannot
save it on the desktop and instead save it in a folder in the D:\
drive, which I will create later?

Pls let know.

You didn't mention whether you have XP Home or Pro, but since you say
the drive is formatted FAT32 I'm going to assume Home. That's why I had
suggested the Shared Computer Toolkit, but as you see you do need NTFS.

Home does not provide the ability to set restrictions with Group Policy.
You cannot do what you want with the machine configured the way it is
now. If you are the systems administrator, you should consider
upgrading to Pro and/or converting to NTFS. Then you will be able to
set up your machines appropriately for a work situation.

If you are not in charge of the computers and able to make these
changes, then there is nothing you can do. If this is a single computer
shared by several people in a small business without an IT Dept., then
you're going to have to talk to your colleagues and/or your boss about
the problem because this is a personnel issue.

I am using Win XP Pro at my office. The C:\ drive is FAT 32 and the D:\
drive is NTFS.

Same answer I gave you before. Talk to your IT Dept. or talk to your
Personnel Dept. or talk to the people who are irritating you.
