Can anyone tell me of a reasonbly priced program that will record photos onto
a DVD that can be viewed on any DVD player?

How about free? Go to Microsoft and download Photo Story - you can use it to
create awesome slide shows, and then use any video burning software you
might have (Media Center, Nero, etc) to burn it to DVD. Or you could use the
also free MovieMaker to intersperse photos and videos (with transitions,
titles, etc).

Thanks "SO MUCH"! Can Powerpoint record any of this or would you actually
have to use the program to view (i.e. on computer only)?

Well PowerPoint has nothing to do with recording. If you meant, can you view
them in PowerPoint - then sure if you wanted to create a presentation and
embed the movie in a slide, but there is no reason to go to that trouble.
You could just play the WMV file directly or as Dana mentioned, burn it to a
DVD and watch it on TV.

Photo Story, not Powerpoint. What it creates from your photos is a WMV
movie. If you burn that to a Video DVD (as a video, not as data), you can
watch it on any standalone DVD player or any computer's DVD player.

Elsie... have you looked to see if it's already on your computer? If not,
try doing a search for it. I only mention that because I did just that and I
have it, but hadn't been aware of it until "now"

I may have spoken too quickly... I think I d/l it at while I was getting the
Image Resizer (not the easiest thing to find). I don't recall any of it as
being so horribly long, and I'm on dialup too.

I did download it...took about 30-40 minutes. So, hopefully I'm gonna get
good results. I had Photo Story 2 which would not do what I needed it to do.
thanks to everyone for all their help!

Dana
I have tried to save a photo story using the media center dvd burner and a
recordable dvd saved in wmv format with no success. When I get to the
burning stage I receive a message to insert a writable disc. Is the secret
in the disc I should use? I am in process of downloading nero. Do I need to
invest in that or can I make the dvd burner with windows media work? Thanks.
