DVD unwanted extra subtitles

Hi all,

Another problem with MCE 2005:

On some (not all) DVD movies I have extra unwanted subtitles showed by
default
and its can't be disabled by DVD menu.

Even more when I try to enable subtitles in menu on such discs it show
additional subtitles one over other.

It looks like something display additional second subtitle and that
"something" can't be controled via menu.

I tried to play separate VOB from such disc with "media player classic" and
no subttiles displyaed (that means no subtitle encoded into picture as I
thought first time).

Tried 3 different MPEG2 decoders and nothing changed they all display such
additional subtitles on same discs.

Can anyone help please ?

I'm having a similar problem... I cannot turn captions off - at all. DVD
settings > no captions... has no effect.

Incredibly frustrating, and it just started 2 weeks ago.
