Hi,

Has anyone had this problem. I have a NEC 1100a dvd drive and a liteon
LTD163 drive. Both at one point were able to play cd's but no longer
can. I bought a new DVD drive and reinstalled my computer. My new dvd
drive is a HP is a 740b. It dosent play CD's either. Does anyone know
if theres a windows update or something which is causing problems?
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Robert

Hi Prophet,

Thanks for the email. I uninstalled Alcohol and booted the system into
safemode and I was still unable to use the CD drive. I think it has to
do with a XP hotfix I'd imagine. I just can't seem to find any
documentation on any. Thanks for the help. If you had any other ideas
its much appricated.

Best Regards..

If you think it's an XP update, why not uninstall them one at a time?
