I have a brand new computer that I just upgraded the memory in (2GB -
4GB). I installed it no prob and when I boot the computer everything
runs fine. I go into my BIOS and it recognizes all the memory installed
(4096 MB). When I go into my Windows XP Media Center Edition it only
sees 2GB installed (SiSoft Sandra and others). All the memory is the
exact same PC4200 DDR2 SDRAM 533mhz 240 pin 1GB x 4 made by comstar.
Any suggestions?

XP is limited to 4mb only of ram.Youve installed more than its capable of
running, anything less than 4mb youd probably see all,and get all of its
performance..

I believe it is 4gb - which is what the upgrade was to. When you install 4gb
the bios reserves memory for itself - in mycase about .5gb
