I am answering my own question. I was able to correct the problem by
downloading Seagate's Disc Wizard and creating a bootable CD. Using "Setup
Your Hard Disc," I rebuilt the disc structure and it is now recognized in XP
as Partition/Basic.

In Disk Management, I have a SATA drive that shows the Layout and Type as
Dynamic/Simple. Is there any way I can change it to Partition/Basic like my
other drives? Deleting the partition and reformatting does not change it to
Partition/Basic. Thanks for any help. >> Stay informed about: Changing drive Layout/Type |
