Post subject: Backup issue
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

Hi,

I have a win2k server. I currently have a workgroup environment with
primarily win2k clients. I have one winxppro client. I'm using microsoft
backup and set up the win2k clients to backup nightly, no problem. I tried to
set up the winxppro client to backup. When trying to choose which folder/file
to back up, I can see the C$, the shared documents and printers folders. It
allows me to view the contents of the shared documents and the printer
folders, but it gives me an access denied message when trying to access the
C$. When I share the C drive I can then see it, but so can everyone else,
which is what I want to prevent. I'm logged in as administrator on the win2k
server, and the administrator account on the xp box with the same password.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance, Dale
