Post subject: The Administrator cannot change the startup programs?!
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>newusers (more info?)

My user is the only user and is set to computer administrator but when I go
to disable startup programs it as "Change is not allowed! Log in as
administrator?!"
WHY> & help s'il vous plait, weird !?! lol
My appreciation in advance for the knowledge I have yet to subsume!

Well press F8 key at startup/starting pc,select safe mode,start xp as
administrator.

startup programs - my problem is that i took some programs out of the startup menu using msconfig but i need to put two programs back. I thought i could go back into the startup menu and tick them but they have gone! I have been into the programs themselves but there is...

Change the default for new programs - I have two hard drives and whenver we load a program it defaults to the C: drive and we have to change the C to D. Not a big deal. However, It would be nice to change that so it starts out in the D drive. Anyone know how to set this?

Administrator - I am trying to install Macromedia Flashplayer but it keeps coming up get administrators permission. I am the administrator with a password protected account and it wont install even if I enter my name and password. I'm using XP Home. Any ideas? Thanks
