i have recently purchased mavis beacon typing software. when i try to run the
software i receive the following error message; the instructio at
"0x2100e297" referenced memory at "0x00e76cb8" the memory could not be read.
not being an expert i am not sure whether this is a problem with the
software or a problem with my system. advice would be appreciated.

Did you buy it cheap? Is it one of those bargain CDs that mentions Windows
3.1, Windows 95 and OS/2 as compatible operating systems?

If so, you may have a problem running it in XP..

hiya mike, thanks for your response. no it isn't one of the cheap and nasty
pirates, i purchased it from pc world, boxed and sealed. it is "broderbund"
software by GSP. system requirements state that it is compatable with
98/me/2000/xp. i am not sure whether it is my system that has a problem or my
software.

Run checkdisc and see if it helps.
I had a similar problems awhile back, seems that part of the program I was
trying to run was in a bad sector. It was recovered and moved.

I am having the same problem. How did you recover the program and have
it moved? How do you run checkdisc on Windows XP?
Thanks,
Jenn
