A seach for ASPI check (or ASPIcheck) will give you info and download links
on the ASPI check utility.

ASPIcheck (obviously!) checks your current ASPI installation and reports
whether it's working or corrupt.
It also comes with the necessary files to repair or reinstall the ASPI layer
on your pc.

Martin.

Hi Martin,

This depends deeply on the system she is running.

It is an old interface to SCSI devices, also used in old versions of CD
burning software. You should be able to find a new version at

'Mr. Nichol: First time on "EXPERTS" site. Read your reply to vnss304 about
ASPI troubles. I, being old and stubborn tried to get rid of that infernal
box saying my "Inter Video DVD copy" suddenly needed a ASPI Device Manager.
After spending an entire night and before finding you, I was able to decode
adaptec's instructions on how to download ASPI. Feeling real good about
conquering that @#$%^box; I tried my DVD copy again, now the BOX read unable
to initialize Device Manager! @#$%^BOX "1" me "0". I had no explanation to my
wife of 53 yrs. what I had been doing all night. If you can tell me in real
"juvenile" language how to "initialize" this THING you might save this short
term marriage...the further I go the behinder I get!!! P.S. Even if you can
straigten me out you wont get any credit in my house because I'm going to
tell her that making that copy the other night was a snap, and that the real
reason that I spent the night on the computer, was to watch "Girls Gone
Wild". THANKS, OLD HULDY

restoring system - Trying to restore the computer because there's so much rubbish on it and it's really slow but the computer won't read the recovery disk, (floppy) or CD. Is there any other way to restore the system?

System "glitch" - Whenever I play MP3 files in Media Player (9 or 10), and whenever I play DVD movies in WinDVD there is a regular (every 10 - 30 seconds) glitch in performance which effects playback. I have monitored the CPU and it appears that there is a spike in..

System date changes by itself - We have WXP and the date (not time) of the system will jump ahead a few days or so even after I reset it back to the correct date. This keeps happening! We are not using any kind of date synchronization, and I've checked for viruses or spyware..

System Scan - Doing a defrag, I got a message to perform a "thorough system scan." How does one do that in Win XP Pro? Thanks, CMA
