I am getting search sites popping up on my task bar. I posted the other day
about it and someone told me to ensure I have the latest spyware. I updated
my Adware to SE and it seemed to fix it.
But they are back today. They only pop up once every 2-4 hours and I just
close it.
I am also running spybot 1.3 and Microsoft Antispyware. All say my system is
clean. I am also running Norton 2005.
When the sites pop up they do not open when I click on it, they seem to
slide under the clock (time) on the task bar. Only if I right click and
choose maximize will they open.
Does anyone have any ideas to what it might be?
Frustrated!
Rudy

Hijack-this is a tool I highly suggest using, although it requires some tech
savvy to use it properly. Start your system in Safe Mode and scan it using
AdAware or Spybot to make sure you get rid of what's left. It's an annoying
process to keep doing it over and over, but it will eventually work.

Rudy,

Download SpywareBlaster, install it, run it and update it.

SpywareBlaster version 3.2.0.0
SpywareBlaster Latest Definitions: 1/8/2005
3348 items in database

SpywareBlaster
[[SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from
ever being installed.
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And
SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.]]

Thanks again Wesley,
I noticed in Spyblaster/Tools/Browser Pages that there are 11 pages. I never
thought there would be that many. Is that OK? Some are duplicated.
Appreciate your help,
Rudy

Rudy,

From SpywareBlaster HELP:
[[Browser Pages:
This displays many of the "browser pages" on your system (for example, your
homepage, various search pages, etc.) and provides the functionality to
change any of them. Pages are displayed for both Internet Explorer and
Mozilla. ]]

You can highlight the items one at a time and click: More Info on Item.

I have six listed. Some look like duplicates because they are the same
setting in two different registry keys.
