Using Kennel Connection from Blue Crystal Software, Win XP Pro. KC uses MS
Access files for it's database. When trying to perform a particular task in
the KC program, runtime 91 error appears. Click on 'OK' and the program
closes. KC tech suport said this is a Windows problem and the only known
cure it to reformat and reload all programs. Before I do all this, is there
another known solution? Thanks.

That's why I'm asking. Smile

The total text of the error message is: "Object variable or with block
variable not set" if that is any help.
Nothing in manual and, in e-mail response, they told me it was a Windows
problem, to reformat and reload. Seems like a pretty rash decision/solution
to me.

Supposedly it is. It's the latest updated version 4.509, released a couple
months ago.

Hold off on any thought of reformat & reloading. period. Reformatting & reloading the O.S. is an absolute last resort !

There's many questions & answers needed to sort this out.

1) You are best served by researching & posting in a developer group, such as microsoft.public.access

2) What does Runtime Error 91 from the KC program mean in everyday words? Does KC have it listed in their manual / help file?

3) Is this version of KC Windows XP compliant? When was this software released/published?

See my first post on using an Access group / or / a developer group. They'd likely have a faster & better answer for the situation.
Finally, see MS Knowledgebase article <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://support.microsoft.com/KB/287485" target="_blank">http://support.microsoft.com/KB/287485</a>

Maurice,
It looks like a KC programing problem. Thanks for your help. I think I'll
turn the matter over to them....
Thanks again,

We too have had nothing but headaches with Kennel Connection.

Are you still using that program??

I've been using Kennel Connection for six years and couldn't live without it. The software isn't without its quirks (what software is?), but the staff is always there to assist if something crops up.

I too had the RTE 91 problem. It surfaced when opening up my receipts listing. The software support staff instructed me to update my Windows XP to service pack 2 (which you should do anyway), and that cured the problem for me.
