You normally won't need your Windows XP CD to retrieve them, because they
are "system" files, Dave. Go into Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs,
then click the Add/Remove Windows Components in the left pane. With
Accessories and Utilities highlighted on the first screen, click the Details
button. Single left-click Games in the next screen to highlight it, then
again click the Details button. On the resulting screen you can add or
remove check marks from any of the listed games. OK your way back twice
(two screens) then click the Next button and finally Finish. Restart your
system, and you should then see the changes.

Dave, open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and browse to the
C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder. If you cannot locate the files like sol.exe
(Solitaire) or winmine.exe (Minesweeper), you may have serious problems on
your system. There should be absolutely no call at all to go to a floppy
drive, since those and other game files (except Pinball) are in the System32
folder.

Additionally? If you've lost your disk you might want to find it... It is
important.

I've done that, too. And then also did the "don't remember" part.
Glad they're back.
